An Easter Weekend Wedding: Congrats Kareem & Renee!

Congrats Kareem and Renee, as you continue to make beautiful memories!

Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons, I also believe they are the best seasons for weddings! Saturday, March 31, 2018, was the perfect setting for a beautiful Spring Wedding (this day set a beautiful tone for Mr. & Mrs. Washington, their wedding party and guests). As guests arrived at the church, they were promptly greeted by the Groomsmen standing at the door of the church, while the Bridesmaids greeted guests as they stepped into the foyer, a picture perfect setting!

Wedding1

The church was adorned with a set of hand-tied burgundy and white floral bouquets, on every other row. A silver arch (adorned with a burgundy and white floral arrangement) was placed just below the pulpit, with a white prayer bench positioned center of the arch. Jazz music (I remember listening to Kenny G’s ‘Forever In Love’) provided an inviting and relax atmosphere as guests filled the church in anticipation of the union of the Bride and Groom!

At 3:55 pm, the hostess, Ms. Sherrie Benjamin announced that the ceremony will begin shortly, in addition, that everyone should remain seated as the bride enters. I LOVED this gesture, it allowed everyone to see the Bride in her beautiful wedding gown as she passed each row. The wedding party began their procession promptly at 4 pm and everyone made their way to cocktail hour at the reception location.

While the bridal party’s entrance was a relax and regal one at the ceremony, the bridal party’s entrance at the reception set the CELEBRATION tone! Everyone knew it was PARTY TIME as the bridal party made their entrance on a favorite song and the guests cheered them on! Of course, the all time favorite was the Bride and Groom’s entrance! Just after Mr. & Mrs. Washington’s entrance, they did their first dance, with the Groom letting his Bride share a dance with her brothers and then her son, it was so beautiful!

As always, I’m intrigued by the Day of Coordination/logistics that take place at a wedding. I LOVE to see how all of the details come together and are executed to create that special day for the Bride and Groom. Ms. Sherrie Benjamin stepped in as a wonderful assistant to the Wedding Planner/Day of Coordinator. I was amazed by her ability to multi-tasks and complete so many of the Day of Coordination duties to assist the Wedding Planner/Day of Coordinator (as the Wedding Planner/Day of Coordinator assisted the Bride and Wedding Party), to bring all the details to fruition. Ms. Sherrie Benjamin and the Wedding Planner/Day of Coordinator executed a beautiful Easter Weekend Wedding!

I wish Kareem and Renee much peace, love and happiness as they begin their life as Mr. & Mrs. Washington!

Plan Your Special Day with ‘Wedding Spot’!

pexels-photo-169191.jpeg

Wedding Spot is a website that provides a snapshot (the location, cost, maximum number of guests and a few pictures of the venue, all on one page with concise detail) of wedding and event venues. This resource can be handy in assisting you with wedding planning; it may also help in easily pinpointing a few venues that meet your wedding budget or theme, while eliminating site visits to other venues that are not a good fit, so that you can focus your time on venues that may be a good fit.

In addition to the previously mentioned details, a description of the venue, time restrictions, the venue’s contact information and website and several other amenity details are easily viewable (a snapshot of the most pertinent information to make your process of selection feasible). I do not receive any proceeds from promoting the Wedding Spot website. I believe this resource is a valuable, accessible, and inexpensive means of making your wedding planning process more efficient by comparing the offerings and price of each venue.

Happy Planning!

Are You Trying to Come up With a Wedding or Event Theme?

Themeworks makes the Dreamwork!

TW1

I enjoyed my tour of Themeworks facility on Tuesday, August 22nd (they relocated to a new location a few months ago)! Paige and Brian took the time to provide me with a tour of the facility, and all I could say or think as I toured was WOW!

TW7

TW8

If you are in the beginning stages of planning/are uncertain about your Wedding or Event Theme, I’m almost certain that you will leave Themeworks with one!

I appreciate Brian and his team’s passion for offering such a wonderful resource to planners and Bride and Grooms-to-be, thank you!

I may have overdone it with the number of pictures that I am providing in this blog, however, I wanted to provide you with “a snapshot” of the wonderful experience I had during my visit at Themeworks.

Themeworks not only provides rentals, builds rentals, and is registered with AllSeated (one of my FAVORITE planning websites), but they are also a Wedding/Event Venue! YES, you can actually have your event AT their facility, AND, gain an idea of how your event will look BEFORE the event!

Market Hall: An Event Venue

MH

I had the pleasure of attending the “Preferred Wedding Vendor Showcase” at the Market Hall on Wednesday, August 15, 2017. The event was held from 5:30-8 pm. I had a wonderful time speaking with a few of the vendors (The English Garden, Missy Loves Jerry, and John and Brian from ThemeWorks).

Thank you for the wonderful flower (courtesy of Yeopim Flowers by way of Missy Loves Jerry).

MH9

The Market Hall venue provides wonderful space for both the ceremony and reception or a corporate event. I really appreciated the decor that ThemeWorks provided throughout the venue, it provided brides and grooms with potential ideas of how to decorate the venue for their special day/two potential wedding themes (a White Wedding or a Rustic Wedding Theme). Additionally, the natural indoor and outdoor decor provides a wonderful backdrop or wedding wall for wedding pictures.

I do not receive any proceeds for promoting any of the vendors that are mentioned.

Live Streaming Your Wedding! (Virtual/Augmented/360 Video)

Greetings Everyone,

I hope you are having a wonderful summer!

Are you interested in a method that provides you and your Groom-to-be to “virtually” engage friends and family members that are unable to “physically” attend your special day?

There is a solution! Virtual or augmented (360) video can provide a means for you to invite guests that are unable to travel. Integrating the 360 video could also be cost-effective, given that you can invite as many guests as you like without being concerned about the cost of meals and favors. Additionally, the 360 video can be viewed by you and your love several times (i.e. milestone videos or just because), creating a nostalgic feeling.

Just recently, AllSeated provided a means for wedding planning with their virtual reality tool. The Knot also provides goggles, so that guests can feel as if they are right there with you celebrating your special day.

While planning your event, please consider using 360 video!

I do not receive any proceeds for promoting AllSeated and TheKnot’s googles/virtual reality services.

Please enjoy the videos below regarding virtual/augmented/360 video.

Yolanda’s Freedom Celebration! With this ring, I me Wed!

 yo

Yolanda has such a beautiful soul! We joined her in celebrating a Recommitment Celebration, with a small number of family members and close friends on Saturday, December 17th, 2016.

During the celebration, we recommitted ourselves to ourselves by reading Soul Vows and symbolizing that recommitment with a ring. In addition, we all wrote down a vice that we did not want to carry into 2017; then we burned it with a candle right after the Commitment Ceremony.

The evening ended with each individual creating their own vision board, to remind us of our goals and potential (throughout the new year)!
